Birkastan day

Birkastan, also known as Birkastaden, is an area of central Stockholm that has no clear official boundaries - it is kind of what's left when Norrmalm, Östermalm and Vasastan (of which it is nominally a part) have taken their chunk.

That is perhaps why the cosy yet grand area of mostly turn of the century buildings feels that it needs its very own day.

This day is on Sunday and promises to have a wealth of activities for the whole family - an old-fashioned street party, quite simply.

Price: Free of charge

Time: Sunday September 6th

Location: Birkastan - St Eriksgatan in the east, Karlbergsvägen in the north, railway tracks in the south-west

Porn

Now that I have your attention, here's the rub (so to speak) - "Dirty Diaries" is the name given to a project tasked with having a poke at creating a more open, creative and less misogynistic, feminist porn.

As Thursday turns into Friday morning the worthy project will have its grand release party at Hornstulls strand where the films will be shown and then discussed for their aesthetic and artistic value.

Price: Free of charge

Time: Thursday September 3rd, 10pm - 2am

Tickets: On the door

Location: Hornstulls strand
