The Local's Stockholm nightlife guide: Vasastan
From the city centre, take a walk up the bustling Sveävagan to the Vasastan area, centered around the Rädmansgatan, Odenplan and St.Eriksplan Tunnelbana (metro) stops. A great place to dine and wine, Vasastan has a mix of residental and office buildings, plus restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.
The area has a mix of relaxed lounges, and even some clubbing venues, like Cliff Barnes, which turns from a restaurant by day into a pumping nightclub when the sun goes down. For a more calm night of drinking, head to Storstad, which a sleek outdoor lounge area, its full with an after-work crowd who often stay well into the night.
Foreigners might also be keen to visit the Bagpiper's Inn, an Australian Bar that might make you feel right at home if you're missing the motherland. A generally wealthy area, Vasastan is also home to the neighbouring restaurants of Musslan and Le Bistro de Wasahof, which are pricy, but offer mouth-watering meals and drinks; Musslan even turns into a nighttime lounge and quasi-club later in evenings.
