This is part of a Swedish chain of shops, and one of two in Stockholm (their other is at Kungsgatan 55). What’s unique about Iris Hantverk is that one quarter of the company’s employees are functionally challenged, and their company philosophy is that they unleash people’s full potential by making accessibility a basic right for all. As a company, Iris has many functions, such as making brushes, visual/reading/writing aids, recordings, organizing conferences and rehabilitation programs, among other things.

Their Gamla Stan location is a must-stop shop for any tourist in Sweden. Their collection of Swedish crafts and collectibles will give you the opportunity to buy all your souvenirs in one place. But what’s most popular here are their brushes, which are all hand-made by blind workers at the Kungsgatan location. From bathroom and kitchen brushes, to shoe and cleaning brushes, the variety is truly astounding. For more information on the company, see www.hantverk.iris.se.
