Swedish women plagued by 'video masturbator'
Police in Lund in southern Sweden are working to track down a man suspected of placing sexually harassing video calls to two women in the area.
Two women have filed complaints with police describing nearly identical incidents in which they answered video phone calls only to have images of a man masturbating pop up on the screen, the Sydsvenskan newspaper reports.
A 19-year-old woman received the first call from a hidden number on Monday around 10am. When she saw the man masturbating, she immediately ended the call. When she received another call from a hidden number a few minutes later, she didn’t answer.
A few hours later, the same thing happened to a 25-year-old woman. In addition to the masturbatory phone call, the 25-year-old also received a mobile phone text message with sexually explicit contents.
Police aren’t ruling out that the two incidents are related, but have not yet been able to definitively establish a connection.
According to police, the offences are serious enough to warrant requesting and reviewing the phone records in order to pinpoint the perpetrator via his mobile phone number.
