In the wake of the engagement between the Swedish crown princess and her personal trainer, the market has been flooded with a plethora of souvenirs. Business association Svensk Handel estimates that the sales of wedding-related items will amount to 2.5 billion kronor ($316 million) in the weeks prior to the ceremony, to be held next year.

According to Malin Rydberg of Designforum in Gävle, the royal dish rag has become a hot item. The rag features an image of the couple, surrounded by flowery vines and a dove with engagement rings.

“A lot of people say that they aren't planning on using them; they don't want to wipe up things with Daniel and Victoria,” she told Arbetarbladet newspaper.

She said that most of the dish rags are being used as decoration, and said that many customers are purchasing them for their mothers-in-law.

The dish rags can also be purchased online at www.kitsch.se.
