Fete de la Musique

Celebrate music this Sunday when Berlin joins 340 cities around the world for this annual event. What began in Paris in 1982 has evolved into one of the largest festivals for free music on the planet. From Cassiopeia in Friedrichshain, to Salut! Cocktailbar in Schöneberg nearly 80 stages will have the city pulsating with everything from African drums to German rap and classical opera all night long.

Gestalt Berlin 2009

This new event will highlight experimental sound art and electronic. International artists will combine both sound and visuals in individual and group performances at the Glogau AIR arts centre in Kreuzberg.

Places of Exile 3: Munich and Washington Heights

In the 1930s German Jewish immigrants flocked to the north Manhattan neighbourhood of Washington Heights. Nostalgic images from the era display street scenes, and trace the history of the Beth Hillel Synagogue.
