"The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control has decided to issue a travel warning regarding Mexico to prevent travellers from Sweden from contracting the new influenza," it said in a statement.

The Swedish foreign ministry said it would not issue a separate travel advisory.

The institute said meanwhile it had tested 24 people for the virus, all of whom were negative.
