The 32-year-old man will stand trial at Kingston Crown Court in London and could face up to ten years imprisonment if found guilty.

The man has been in detention since May 28th 2008 when he was arrested in a dawn raid by police in Leicester.

"Our embassy has sought contact with the man but he has not responded. If no contact with the Swedish authorities is wanted it can not be forced on him," Amelie Heinsjö at the Swedish foreign ministry (UD) said to Svenska Dagbladet.

The Swedish judicial system has provided the UK authorities with information from a previous case involving the man, who is a Swedish citizen.

The defendant is known to the Swedish security police (Säpo). He has previously figured in an investigation into Yassin Ali, a Swedish citizen that spent 105 days in custody in Sweden on suspicion of raising funds for the Somali terrorist group al-Shahaab, Svenska Dagbladet writes.

The 32-year-old became a Swedish citizen in 2005 although currently has no fixed address in Sweden.
