Victory over HV71 in the fifth match of the best of seven final series was enough to bring the Elitserien title back to Karlstad for the eighth time.

Färjestad saw off HV71's challenge with a 3-2 home victory in front of 8,250 supporters at the Löfbergs Lila Arena.

It was the last match in a Färjestad shirt for at least two veterans of the club with Jörgen Jönsson and Thomas Rhodin both bringing their careers to a glorious conclusion.

Dominik Granak, Jörgen Jönsson and Eero Somervuori were the scorers for Färjestad as they won their fourth match in the series.

HV71 managed just one win in the final series. Their scorers in Wednesday night's game were Mikko Luoma and Martin Thörnberg.
