Drunk Swedish pastor in net dating outrage
A pensioned Church of Sweden pastor has been reported for offensive comments to women while chatting on a Christian online dating website.
"You look like a bearded lady," was one of the pastor's less salubrious comments to women with whom he was chatting on the Christian dating site 7EHimlen ("Seventh Heaven").
"You look really drab and dreary. You probably have to pay for sex," the elderly pastor said to another, according to local newspaper Smålandsposten.
The pastor's comments have not been well received by several of his colleagues in the Swedish church and he has been reported to the cathedral chapter in Växjö in southern Sweden.
The cathedral chapter will rule on the case on April 23rd and the pastor is at risk of being expelled from the ministry.
The pastor has explained that he deeply regrets his action and offered in his defence that he was drunk at the time.
"The whole episode was stupid and regrettable and pitiable," he said to the newspaper.
