Children's TV presenter cuts off finger tip on air

A Swedish children's television presenter gave credence to the well-worn phrase "don't try this at home" when she sliced the tip off a finger while chopping a potato in the middle of a live broadcast.

The presenter was working on a programme entitled "Andedräktstavlingen" (literally: "breath competition") in Sveriges Television's Malmö studio when the unfortunate accident occurred.

The presenter was chopping a potato when the knife slipped and went straight through the tip of the middle finger on her left hand, cutting off the nail and part of the pad of the finger.

SVT in Malmö has reported the incident to the Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket).

The injured party is employed part-time on the popular Swedish television programme "Bobster". The programme was broadcast on February 12th.
