Television newsman Jarl Alfredius dies

Popular Swedish television news anchor Jarl Alfredius has died at the age of 66.

After almost 40 years in journalism, Alfredius ended his career last year when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He worked as the main news anchor for Aktuellt on Sveriges Television (SVT) from 1986 until the time of his diagnosis in June 2008.
