Stockholm club and concert tips: Saturday, Feb 28
The Djungeltrumman club editor's tips.
Bauer Weekends
Address: Bauer, Götgatan 15
9pm - 1am
Free entry
Age: 20 and over
The hyper attractive Götgatan bar Bauer has made a major commitment to getting in great DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Large sections of the snazzy Stockholm elite are brought together in the large bar to play everything from hip hop, Baltimore club and disco to indie rock and electro.
Blondie
Address: Knast, Upplandsgatan 7
9pm - 1am
Free entry
Age: 18 and over
Down among the graffiti-covered stone walls, the candlelit darkness, thick dry ice, red leather sofas and curious images of skeletons and popes, Stockholm legend Tommie X opens the doors every Friday night to his wonderfully decadent club, Blondie.
The club is a coming together of the gays and the fag hags, the media old timers and the nineteen year old barflies, bewigged anorexic monsters and confused but happy indie poppers and fashionistas.
There is room for everybody here, whether you want to dance 'til you sweat to life-affirming eurodisco or sit and make out in the black sofas.
Fritz´s Corner
Address: Debaser Slussen, Karl Johans Torg 1
8pm - 3am
100 kronor (60 kronor for members)
Age: 18 and over (20 for members)
Fritz's Corner is one of the city's oldest and most popular rock clubs. Every Saturday sees an offering of wonderfully interesting live bands from Södermalm and abroad, as well as a busy dancefloor shaking to everything from electro pop to rock'n'roll.
Tonight
Live: One Little Plane (UK) and Antennas (Gotland).
Mosquito Room
Address: Berns, Berzelii Park
10pm - 3am
150 kronor
Age: 23 and over
Evergreen tropico popper Thomas Gylling teams up from time to time with soul singer Stephen Simmonds for fantastic, sweat-inducing parties at the main bar in Berns Salonger.
Around 600 clubbers pack the venue to dance to everything from soca, dancehall and reggae to Afropop, Latin, soul, funk and much, much more.
Raw Fusion
Address: Mosebacke, Mosebacke Torg 3
10pm - 2am
100 kronor
Age: 20 and over
The years roll on but Raw Fusion remains, and it does so with considerable aplomb. Everyone who's anyone has played here, at least in the realms of funk, soul, deep house, disco, broken beats or hip hop. Carl Craig, Kerri Chandler, Jazzanova, UFO and Giles Peterson have all been here.
Mad Mats is host of the club that nowadays runs just once a month. He is assisted by MC Aaron Phiri and residents Asparagus, Richard Masip and Cornelisrummet's Brasse-Agge.
Tonight
Raw Fusion vs Soulmates get a visit from Ian Friday (Libation, Tea Party Music, Brooklyn NYC).
