Casting a Shadow. Creating the Alfred Hitchcock Film

See fascinating storyboards and production design sketches from films like The Birds, North By Northwest, and Shadow of a Doubt in this new exhibition that presents the process of making a Hitchcock film. Original documents created by Hitchcock himself join a trove of cinematic relics that detail the legendary director's many collaborations.

Charles Darwin Exhibition

On the 200th anniversary of the great scientist's birth, an extraordinary exhibition opens at Berlin's Natural History Museum. Hop aboard the HMS Beagle and journey back to a time when Charles Darwin made some of his most startling observations - discoveries that would lead to his revolutionary magnum opus On the Origin of Species.

Ever Ever Altar Bar

The conceptual artist who goes by the name Item Idem, has done projects for the concept store Colette in Paris, and the Bernhard Willhelm boutique in Tokyo, so you can expect his recent collaboration with 032c magazine to be unusually spectacular. The Ever Ever Altar Bar takes the form of a vodka and dim sum bar, housed in the magazine's "museum store."

Stumbling Blocks: Gunter Demnig and His Project

You know those little brass squares you see in the sidewalks? They're there because of one man, a guy by the name of Gunter Demnig. Since 1990 Berlin-born, Cologne-based artist has been installing these memorials to Jews who were deported by the Nazis, in front of the houses where they once lived. An exhibition at Frankfurt's City Library details the project.

Valentine's Day is so much fun if you're a kid! Gabriel Rossell Santillán

The Mexican-born, Berlin-based artist links cultural and anthropological elements with the technical processes of drawing, painting, photography, and installations. The works presented in this exhibition, which opens Friday at Stuttgart's Parrotta Gallery, were created after extensive research and fieldwork conducted in Stuttgart, Huichol communities in Mexico, and the Ethnological Museum in Berlin.
