Woman held captive for five days in southern Sweden
A 47-year-old man is suspected of holding a 41-year-old woman prisoner for five days in his apartment in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden.
The man threatened to hurt the woman if she tried to leave the apartment, but on Friday night she succeeded in calling the police, according to media reports.
The man was arrested and detained later on suspicions of illegal detainment, illegal threats, and abuse.
“The woman isn’t in any grave physical danger. The man is to remain detained for the weekend in anticipation of detention order,” said Torbjörn Borgström of the Blekinge police, to the TT news agency.
