Sweden bides time over car maker aid
Sweden's Industry Minister Maud Olofsson said on Friday the government wanted to see what Ford , General Motors and the European Investment Bank did before deciding on any support for domestic car makers.
Olofsson, speaking at a news conference as the government unveiled a 23 billion kronor ($2.8 billion) package of stimulus measures, said Sweden was holding talks with the industry and monitoring events in Washington.
"We want to get a better view of what GM and Ford have in mind. We want to get a better view of what the European Investment Bank wants to do, and we will revisit this issue as soon as the picture becomes clearer," Olofsson said.
