Hootchy Kootchy Club: Vatican Secret

The Hootchy Kootchy Club at Södra Teatern this weekend opens up the portal of shame, inviting everyone to partake in heavenly sin! The Holy Trinity of The Whore, The Madonna and The Pope whom God forgot will be there to host the occasion, requiring Vatican State citizens to surrender to at least seven deadly sins.

Special guests include Fancy Chance (UK) - the burlesque terrorist, Taylor Mac (US) with his Antichrist hymns and ukulele, and provocative acrobatics with Michelle from Gravity Plays Favourites.

And of course, in addition...the Hootchy Kootchy Hussies, Dj Rip Roarin' Mary Lou, DJ Piotr and graphics from Lipstick & Dynamite.

Vasastan book crawl

The Vasastan Book Group is holding a book crawl from 12 noon until 4pm, with a wide variety of activities at each shop. All of the participating bookshops have books in English as well as Swedish.

Cirkus Cirkör – Inside Out

Inside Out is a circus show about something as simple as life. The new large scale production is the second part in a circus trilogy which began with 99% Unknown, which premiered in 2004.

Inside out follows three characters, each trapped in their own definition of safety and success. One terrified of failure, one seized by logic and a third doing his best to be hard. Their worlds are turned up side down in a tremendous journey upon meeting a circus company of ugly, monstrous and odd, but also magical, funny, warm and elegant characters.

The show features seven circus artists along with a live rock band Irya’s Playground with lead singer Irya Gmeyner (previously with the group URGA) at the helm.

Queen: The Ultimate Tribute

Dieselverkstan presents the ultimate tribute concert to Freddie Mercury and Queen. The world-renowned Queer, backed up by a 20 person strong choir will perform all your favourite anthems from Queen's huge repertoire.

Expect Bohemian Rapsody, We are the Champions and We Will Rock You alongside some of the lesser known gems from the Mercury archive, all replete with the obligatory pyrotechnic extravaganza backdrop.

Motörhead (UK)

Over 33 years in the music industry British heavy metal rockers, Motörhead, have released 20 albums, been on countless tours, won a clutch of Grammy awards and established themselves at the head of the head-banging field.

Motörhead's new album "Motorizer" was released on September 1st and the band are in town to give the Gothenburgers a taste of their new material. And what better place to play than the Scandinavium arena at number 1 Valhalla road.

Take Action - 83 Ways to Change the World

What are the driving forces that propel society forward? Why do people rebel? Are they heroes or vandals?

"Take Action! 83 Ways to Change the World", an exhibition at the Museum of World Culture, is about individuals who occupy land, refuse to follow orders blindly, create armies of clowns, crochet their own Gucci handbags or start up their own banks.

They offer resistance and ask questions, they "do" something and so can you by paying a visit to one of the newer additions to the Gothenburg museum scene and it's free to all those under 20.

Lucia and Christmas market

Welcome to a Christmas weekend for the whole family at Gothenburg City Museum. Activities for the kids, rhyming workshop and masses of song, dance and music are on offer, as well as a chance to find that quirky little gift for the troublesome in-laws.

Highlight of the weekend will be an appearance by Gothenburg's Lucia at 11am on Saturday, or maybe the fire brigade on Sunday - take your pick.

"Like a Pet Shop Boys in Depeche Mode clothes," is how this black, heavy industrial pop group from the UK have been described.

The gang of four have developed strongly since the release of their debut album in 2001 and they return to Malmö with a new album "Velocifero" in their hand baggage.

Status Quo (UK)

The British boogie-rock kings Status Quo celebrate 40 years as a band this year and visit Lund on their anniversary tour.

118 million records sold, 22 top 10 singles...

"Whatever You Want", "Down Down" are some of the classics while the band's most recent offering displays an attractive sense of irony with the title "In Search of the Fourth Chord" - in recognition of their reputations as the masters of the three-chord riff.
