Inseparable Anglophiles Robert Plaszczyk and Magnus Carlson (Weeping Willows) run the incredibly popular Bangers'n'Mash club together with former Ride guitarist and current Oasis bassist Andy Bell

Every second Saturday they get the dancefloor moving to the baggiest Madchester, singalong Britpop and ravetastic acid house for all the Stockholm geezers in need of more excitement in their lives.

They have also brought over a steady flow of celebrities from England, including previous guests Mani, Peter Hook, Carl Barat, Dot Allison and Ian McCulloch.

The hyper attractive Götgatan bar Bauer has made a major commitment to getting in great DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Large sections of the snazzy Stockholm elite are brought together in the large bar to play everything from hip hop, Baltimore club and disco to indie rock and electro.

Rock journalist Terry Ericsson named his club after the old Orange Juice classic, which Terpan himself calls the best indie song ever written.

One Saturday every month Terry plays his records at Debaser (Medis). The dance floor is usually fantastic and there are alway promising new live bands.

Terry and Robert Krus are resident DJs on the main dancefloor, while Sara Martinsson and Fredrik Bergh play in the bar.

Klubb Idyll

Queer club Idyll has left the miniscule surroundings of El Mundo bar for the larger Landet at Telefonplan. But the concept remains the same as before.

One weekend a month the club serves up dance, sweat, sexy electro and electronic orgasms in equal measure.

There is almost always some form of cultural activity early in the evening - a book release and reading, speed dating, or a workshop - before the disco gets underway.

Evergreen tropico popper Thomas Gylling teams up from time to time with soul singer Stephen Simmonds for fantastic, sweat-inducing parties at the main bar in Berns Salonger.

Over the last few years Vassa Eggen has gradually begun to take over as the most obvious hangout for the city's pub-going hip-hop and nightclub audience.

Every weekend the bar on the outer edge of the Stureplan area is full to bursting with all the old regulars from Riche/East/Annakhan/Berns/Floras Kulle, who love dancing on the bar to everything from old school hip-hop to Baltimore club, soul, funk, disco and electro.

Among the most frequent DJs are people like DJ Taro, KärleksJohan, A Lowe Thing, Thomas LA, Myggan, Jeppe Körsbär and Hackenbush.

YES! is, in all likelihood, the best and most ambitious hip-hop club in town. At least once a month Mosebacke is filled to bursting with people dancing, breakdancing and listening to the very best of hip-hop, along with a generous helping of breakbeats, house, R&B and soul.

The residents here are Pure P, Flaite and Don Dada and the guests are often well-known foreign stars and promising Swedish talents, either playing DJ sets or performing live.

When summer comes around, the club spills out onto the big outdoor terrace with a phenomenal view out over the whole of Stockholm.

Major fifth anniversary party with a secret guest appearance from a New York hip hop legend.

Youth began life during the summer down in the classic Bonden Bar in the heart of Söder. The club pops up every now and again with various themes and always has the very best indie and techno streaming out of the speakers.

Club organizers and residents Isabella Tedhammar and Anna Danielsson always invite a guest to join them at the decks.

Mimic and musician Ponts Gustafsson on stage at 9pm. Youth goodie bags will be handed out after the performance.
