Two shot in Gothenburg drug bust
Two men are being treated in hospital after they were shot by police in Gothenburg on Thursday evening.
A police officer opened fire after a car was pulled over in the Hisingen district during a planned operation. A total of five men were arrested.
"A policeman felt under threat from one of the people in the car and fired a shot that injured two people," police spokeswoman Pia Goksöyr told the TT news agency.
The men's injuries are not life-threatening, according to the police.
Four of the men arrested in the raid are being held on suspicion of serious narcotics offences. A fifth man has been released.
Police have said they will launch an internal investigation to ascertain whether the officer acted appropriately when he opened fire on the suspects.
