The quick pitch

Positioned in a stunning location between soaring mountains and picturesque fjords, Narvik offers breathtaking skiing. Narvik’s six lifts carry skiers 1,000 meters up where they can enjoy great snow in a stunning setting.

“We are very lucky here at Narvik to have almost no queues. The peace and quiet is amazing and we can boast having one of the best mountain-top views in the world. With easy access on the train, direct from Stockholm, we have a fantastic location and unique skiing,” says Nicola Mulryan from Destination Narvik.

Apart from extensive off-piste opportunities, Narvik has nine prepared slopes, the longest being a staggering 3,200 metres long. To keep the adrenaline pumping after all that skiing, the resort also hosts Europe’s most challenging sledge run - enough to satisfy even the most daring thrill-seeker.

On a more serene note, between November and the beginning of January, be sure to catch the unforgettable spectacle of the large groups of Orcas which congregate in the fjords around Narvik.

Orca safaris run during this time so these beautiful animals can be seen up close. It is also the perfect time to catch the spectacular atmospheric display of the Northern Lights.
