Helena Franzén - Tide

Choreographer Helena Franzén's new work which opens at Dansens Hus this Saturday is inspired by the tides. Music, movements, costume, the dancers...everything ebbs and flows like the tide.

Franzén and her composer Jukka Rintamäki are both inspired by the melancholic and they seek to shake things up creating imbalance and insecurity to counter the apparent comfort.

All the music in the performance is played on a gramophone and composed by Rintamäki for each individual dancer and her movements. The dancers themselves act as DJ's and play their own music to accompany their solos.
