The 33-year-old was told he would not be called to appear befor judges at a Nuremberg hotel, but refused to accept the rejection, local police confirmed on Tuesday.

Determined to show the judges his musical abilities for the German version of "American Idol," the man ran around the outside of the hotel and managed to get on stage having entered through a back door.

The talent show organizers’ security detail could not subdue him, Anke Eickmeier, the show’s spokeswoman said. He was screaming and hitting those keeping him from the stage, she said.

Eventually the police were called and they were forced to handcuff him and hold him under arrest while the auditions continued without him.
