The man went out into the woods on Wednesday morning and was reported missing on Thursday by relatives who found his car and mobile phone near the camper the man used when he worked in the forest.

His brush saw and work clothes were missing.

Police searched for the 57-year-old with dogs and helicopters and at 2am on Friday morning the man was found dead approximately 250 metres away from where he had disappeared.

“He most likely slipped and fell; we don’t suspect foul play,” said Sundsvall police spokesperson Hans Häggström to the TT news agency.
