Drunk truck driver stops at police station for directions
An intoxicated truck driver stopped by a Kaltenkirchen police station to ask for directions after he lost his way, but left the station without his driver’s license, police in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein reported on Tuesday.
Officers were overcome by the smell of alcohol on the 50-year-old from Hesse as he asked for directions on Monday afternoon, and they subjected him to a sobriety test.
When the man showed a blood alcohol content level of 0.172 – well above the legal limit of 0.05 – the authorities confiscated his license.
