Nathalie Johansen was reported missing in Alingsås in May. Police began a search for the 20-year-old woman that had until Saturday been unsuccessful.

The woman's body was found on Saturday by a farmer who was preparing a field for sowing near Fölene church- several hundred metres from the childhood home of Nathalie Johansen's boyfriend.

The man's family still live in the house and have a clear view of the place where the body was found and police working to gather evidence in the area.

It is believed that the body is that of the missing woman and hours later police arrested Johansen's boyfriend at his new residence in Herrljunga on suspicion of murder. The man had been living with Johansen when she left their home in Alingsås without her purse, phone or keys and disappeared.

The body was found around 40 kilometres from Alingsås.

The 21-year-old man has previously been under suspicion for the murder of Nathalie but the body of evidence had been insufficient and he was released after interrogation.

Kent Perciwall at Alingsås police was unable to confirm the identity of the arrested man or the body on Saturday. An announcement will be made on Sunday when the autopsy on the woman's body is completed.
