FRIDAY

Bongo!

Address: Pusterviksbaren, Järntorgsgatan 12

10pm - 3am

80 kronor

Age: 18 and over

The improbably vital club Bongo! throws genre descriptions aside and satisfies its inner hunger for dance and a healthy dose of lunacy. Everything from klezmer, reggae and samba to new dance music is served up by DJs not necessarily accustomed to sharing a DJ booth with another person. The whole thing is topped off with the odd piece of live music. If you're brave enough you are likely to have an incredible amount of fun here.

Orgia

Address: Orgia, Storgatan 47

11pm - 5am

Free entry

Age: 23 and over

Website

Orgia is the watering hole we are all drawn to when everywhere else closes - too early as usual - and our appetite for crowds, alcohol and unexpected encounters has not yet been sated. This is where the Aveny and hipster crowds meet in an environment that is anything but relaxed, and where you have to hold on tight to your 62 kronor beer to avoid getting it right down your cleavage. The commercial techno that generally emanates from the decks is easy to enjoy.

The Eye

Address: Nefertiti, Hvitfeldtsplatsen 6

12.30pm - 4am

90 kronor

Age: 20 and over

Website

If The Eye were Christianity, electronic music would be God, Nefertiti heaven and Fridays Christmas Eve. Saturday mornings would be purgatory and guilt-tinged day-after text messages the forgiveness of sins. The bouncer would be called Saint Peter and beer would be the sacramental wine. As it happens, The Eye is not particularly God-fearing club but it's still possible to experience hell there in the form of bloody long queues. This can be easiest avoided by arriving in good time.

Tonight

Resident night!

SATURDAY

Koloni

Address: Kulturhuset Underjorden, Brahegatan 11

8pm- 2am

80 kronor

Age: 18 and over

Website

Gothenburg's most groundbreaking booking company brings in a lot of bands a lot of times to a lot of different places, and the bands represent a lot of different genres. Always special, always interesting.

Tonight

Live: Hey Lover (US), No Nebraska (Ger), Don Vito (Ger) and Cafeteria Dance Fever (US).

Rumble

Address: Inferno, Viktoriagatan 3

10pm - 3am

100 kronor

Age: 20 and over

Website

Blenda Lars continues his success at club Rumble at Inferno in some style. Nowadays there is more and more hip-hop on the dancefoor, and despite all the reggae hype the party mood has not died down. It can get really packed so get there on time. An extra hour can never hurt to explore all of Inferno's many nooks and crannies. You might even find your way down to the cellar where there's often more dancing afoot.

Tonight

Gothenburg theme!

Styrbord Babord

Address: Styrbord Babord, Kungsportsplatsen 1

10pm - 3am

60 kronor

Age: 23 and over

Website

Styrbord Babord is the highly appropriate name given to Uppåt Framåt's Aveny-based spawn. For those of you not acquainted with the place, we can inform you that it floats on actual water. It's a bit like a barge equipped with a never-ending party, champagne, exciting new dance music and an audience that is mixed and positive.

Tonight

Styrbord Babord plays host to DJ Kaos from Germany.
