Night-time photography

London based designer duo Jojo & Malou take over Riche jut in time for yet anotherFashion Week in Stockholm. Fashion photographer Marcus Palmqvist has taken Polaroid snaps of Jojo, Malou and their friends wearing their creations.

Head art

Urban Outfitters is playing host this Fashion Week to an exhibition of the work of Swedish fashion genius Lovisa Burfitt. In an installation prepared in conjunction with photographer Julia Hetta, Burfitt shows accessories previously seen in the French and Italian editions of Vogue.

Mammy forever

After winning an Oscar for her portrayal of Mammy in Gone with the Wind, Hattie McDaniel got stuck playing the role of a black maid. Artist Harold Offeh uses these recurring casting stereotypes as a starting point for his Being Mammy exhibition at Kulturhuset.

Film festival

Moderna Museet invtes you to a art movie festival. Art in the Auditorium is an international collaboration between art museums in London, Beijing, Istanbul, Oslo, Bergamo, Buenos Aires, Zurich and Stockholm. Each day one of the institutons involved will select a film from its collction. August 19th – 24th.

Everyday life in Tibet

For the first time Joakim Eneroth’s and Malin Rosén’s Testimony is exhibited at Stockholm gallery KG52. The project provides textual and pictorial evidence of the imprisoned Tibetan monks and nuns and the torture to which the Chinese authorities expose them. The pictures have received a lot of attention and were even published in Svenska Dagbladet.
