Freak fodder slide kills farmer

A farmer in his 50s was killed after six tons of fodder buried him in a freak accident on Saturday.
The accident happened on the man’s farm outside Jönköping, south-central Sweden. The man had gone out at around 7 am to feed his animals, and was supposed to meet a neighbor around 10 am, but never turned up.
According to Jönköping rescue services, the neighbor got in touch with the man’s wife to find out his whereabouts.
She went out and discovered that parts of the fodder container and all its contents had buried him.
Rescue services dug out the man and resuscitated him, but he died later in hospital. It is currently unclear why the container split.
