Concept king

Moderna Museet (the Stockholm Museum of Modern Art) exhibition series Den 1:a på Moderna (The First at the Modern) has been underway since 2004 and invited in a unbelievable group of contemporary art. Now it’s time for the last exhibit and the artist is the American concept king Joseph Kosuth, who has produced a new installation specifically for Moderna Musseet.

Close-up fashion photography

The gallery at Urban Outfitters now features the exhibit Dear Nike. Photographer Martin Vallin examines the relation between photography and the muse in a project where he spent eight months working with the model Nike Felldin. The entire project has developed into a mutual game, taking as much inspiration from 80s punk as from Frank Stella.

Tema Queer

The National Museum’s theme this summer is queer. With a new perspective on its collection, the museum is showing an exhibit on desire, power, identity, and sexuality. It features Karl XII wearing a dress and holding hands with his sister, nymphs, and well-defined athletes.

Scandinavian light

With the exhibition A State Of Content, Operatingplace presents an extraordinary slice from the Scandinavian art scene. Nearly fifteen artists collaborate in a collective exhibition which can be found way up top at PUB.03.

Dark future dystopia

The big discussion from last year’s Venice Biennale can be seen at Kulturehuset’s Gallery 3. Last Riot, a work by a group of Russian artists, is a three-part video projection which portrays a dark future dystopia filled with expressionless youth.
