'Ass man' concludes his visit to Sweden
A French traveler who has been walking across Sweden with his two donkeys for the last two weeks arrived in Stockholm on Wednesday.
Dubbed 'the ass man' by the Swedish press, 65-year-old Jacques Abdelaziz now plans to start his journey back home to Brittany in northern France to attend his son’s wedding in October.
Abdelaziz’s visit to Sweden got off on a rocky start after customs officials in Gothenburg demanded proper paperwork for his two asses, Nounou and Toutoune.
The matter was quickly resolved, however, and the trio soon headed eastward toward Stockholm.
Since then, Abdelaziz and his trusty companions have been meandering along Sweden’s country roads on their way to the capital city.
While the weary travelers never reached the Royal Palace, they did turn a number of heads as the wandered across the bridge from Skanstull on Södermalm, with the orb of Stockholm’s Globen arena in the background.
Abdelaziz said his journey across Sweden went faster than expected, and he now hopes to get a ride for himself and his two pack animals to Nyköping, from where he will continue back to France.
