Apple Art

On America’s national holiday, Independence Day, it’s vernissage for Shiva Anoushirvani’s exhibit Holy Hoax at the Lundh Åstrand Gallery at Erstagatan’s El Mundo. It’s based on different myths about The Big Apple and on the apple as a symbol.

The Muse and Fashion

The gallery at Urban Outfitters now features the exhibit Dear Nike. Photographer Martin Vallin examines the relation between photography and the muse in a project where he spent eight months working with the model Nike Felldin. The entire project has developed into a mutual game, taking as much inspiration from 80s punk as from Frank Stella.

Ragnar’s World

Ragnar Persson takes over both rooms for the exhibit Ride the Lightning. The Jonas Kleerup Gallery is filled with drawings, screen prints, wall paintings, sketches and video with that characteristic Persson-style. It’s hard rock, teenage feelings, birds, forest, all crossed with animated grandeur.

Bar Pictures

The Little Bar at Riche invites you to an exhibit with the best from art’s new young guard. This time it’s the freshly minted Mejan graduate Maria Bajt and the German illustrator Michael Jordan who team up for an exhibit in which recycled materials play a central role. It’s graphic and it’s delicate.

Scandinavia In Our Time

With the exhibit A State of Content, Operatingplace presents an extraordinary slice of the Scandinavian art scene. Nearly fifteen artists collaborate in a collective exhibition which can be found way up top at PUB.03.
