14 years for cannabis crime

Two men, aged 50 and 47 years old respectively, were sentenced on Thursday by Falu district court to 14 years for aggravated narcotics smuggling.
Another man, aged 54, received a 12-year sentence, mainly because he was honest about his involvement in the case.
The men were arrested when around 400 kilos of cannabis was seized from a truck in Mariestad, central Sweden last November. The drugs haul came from the Netherlands and was probably intended for the Norwegian market.
According to Sveriges Radio Dalarna, the confiscation was the biggest ever cannabis haul in Sweden.
Two other men were given shorter sentences for receiving stolen monies as well as for conspiracy to aggravated narcotics smuggling.
