A woman was also knifed during the fight and received light injuries to the forehead.

The injured man was taken to the Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala where he was operated upon. He was moved to intensive care afterwards.

He has serious injuries, but according to hospital reports they are no longer life-threatening.

The 23-year-old and 39-year-old suspected perpetrators have been charged in their absence with attempted murder. They are currently on the run.

Speaking to TT, chief investigator Monika Carlsson said that it appears that the victim and his perpetrators knew each other from before.

“This wasn’t a chance attack but some form of prior antagonism was involved. We are assuming that the victim and the perpetrators knew each other from before.”

Carlsson explained that they haven’t been able to question the injured man yet.

Due to his injuries ´"we haven’t been able to question him, so everything is based upon the woman’s report.”
