France Telecom ready to battle Telenor for Telia Sonera
France Telecom is preparing for a possible bidding war for Telia Sonera with Norwegian telecom operator Telenor, according to the Financial Times newspaper.
The French company’s advisors have assembled a document seen by the newspaper.
The document contains assertions that a combination of Telia Sonera and Telenor would fall apart due to encumbering regulations, political difficulties, and the loss of jobs in the Nordic region.
Telenor, 54 percent of which is owned by the Norwegian state, hasn’t yet approached Telia Sonera.
But a spokesperson told the newspaper that the company is monitoring the situation closely.
