Most Germans willing to pay more for milk

The majority of Germans would be willing to pay more for milk, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

Some 88 percent of the poll participants said they would pay more for milk to avoid transferring extra costs to farmers, according to German weekly newsmagazine Stern.

The consumer will to dig a little deeper into their pockets went as high as a €0.10 increase if farmers benefited, Stern reported.

Just nine percent of those polled said they wouldn’t pay more for milk. Three percent said they were unsure of their stance on milk prices.

The poll was conducted by social and statistical research company Forsa on June 2 with 1,001 representative Germans.
