Telia customers lose network coverage
Telia's mobile telecoms customers had to survive without their phones on Friday afternoon as a technical fault knocked out most of the network.
The fault occurred at around 4pm on Friday afternoon and affected both Telia Sonera's GSM and 3G network.
More than four million Telia's customers were affected by the fault.
By 8pm Telia had corrected the fault and its 3G network was back in operation. The GSM network was back in service soon afterwards. Around midnight everything was back to normal.
Telia were unwilling to specify the nature of the fault to news agency TT on Friday evening.
"We are not going to go into detail," said Irene Krohn at Telia's press office.
The fault was reported to be unusual.
"It is something that we have never been affected by before," said Ola Kallemur at Telia.
