Astrid was born in 1895 and has experienced the turn of two centuries.

Last year she celebrated her 112th birthday with coffee and cake at her retirement home in Hollsbybrunn, outside Vetlanda in southern Sweden.

Sweden’s next oldest person was Hulda Karlsson from Öxnevalla in western Sweden, who died on April 22nd at the age of 110.

Sweden’s former oldest person was Elsa Moberg, who died at 2001 at the age of 112 years and 143 days.
