Börje Strömberg, a press spokesman for the Västerås police told TT that Friday’s meeting with the case’s prime suspect was to open an initial dialogue and for the two parties to get to know each other. He does not believe that the interrogation process will near completion until sometime in June.

At present, the police do not wish to discuss detailed evidence against the German national. However Commissioner Bo Forsman, head of Västerås police did tell TT that they had sufficiently strong evidence to solve the murders which took place in mid-March.

The injured mother’s statements have also helped to build up the case. The mother has now left hospital, but with impaired hearing resulting from the injuries sustained in the attack.

On Saturday the Västmanlands district court will negotiate new conditions to keep the prime suspect in custody.
