Police arrested the 32-year-old man without a struggle on Wednesday afternoon on a train between the southern German city of Nuremberg and Dresden, a spokesman for the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria told German news agency DPA.

The spokesman confirmed a report from the radio station Bayrische Rundfunk that the man had been staying in the Czech Republic.

He is accused of absconding on Jan. 20, 2007 with €3.6 million ($5.7 million) from an armored transport vehicle he was driving near Munich.

Both man and money vanished without a trace until he turned up on the train on Wednesday, police said.
