The woman, who has a secret identity, was opening a package when suddenly it exploded, Dagens Nyheter reports. She received injuries to her legs, hands, stomach and face.

The woman's ten-year-old daughter was outside playing at the time of the blast and was left in a state of shock by the attack on her mother.

A neighbour was taken to hospital to be treated for a broken leg after jumping out of his second floor apartment.

"The neighbour heard an explosion, thought it was in the stairwell and jumped because he thought it wasn't possible to get out," said police spokesman Joakim Caryll.

Police are classifying the attack as a case of attempted murder and devastation endangering the public.

Police have not yet been able to question the victim.
