The March Sifo poll, published in Svenska Dagbladet and Göteborgs-Posten, shows combined support for the Social Democrats, the Green Party and the Left Party at 56 percent.

Combined support for the four-party Alliance government amounted to 39.9 percent.

The gap between the blocks has therefore declined from 19.4 percentage points in February to 16.1 points in March. None of the changes are statistically significant.

Sweden's largest party, the Social Democrats claimed 43.3 percent, down 2.2 percentage points on February figures. Fredrik Reinfeldt's Moderates had the support of 22 percent of voters, an increase of 0.6 points.

The Liberal Party (Folk Party) claimed 7.6 percent, up 1 percentage point on February. The Centre party polled 5.8 percent, down 0.2 points. The Green Party collected 7 percent, up 0.4 points. The Left Party claimed 5.7 percent, up 0.2 points and the Christian Democrats received 4.5 percent, up 0.3 points.

The far-right Sweden Democrats increased their support to 3.7 percent in the new poll, in comparison to 2.9 percent in February.

Sifo interviewed 1,919 people between March 3rd-13th.
