Stockholm cafe destroyed by driverless truck
A driverless truck caused major destruction on Wednesday when it crashed into a cafe and nightclub in central Stockholm.
The Espresso House café on Regeringsgatan had just closed when the truck smashed into the front window and wall. Two staff members were on the premises at the time.
"A lot has been destroyed. A whole wall is destroyed," one worker told TT.
The building also houses the popular White Room night club.
"Part of White Room's upper bar is destroyed," spokeswoman Stephanie af Klercker told Expressen.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. The truck had been parked nearby.
"Then for some reason it started rolling," said police spokeswoman Kristina Berglund.
The vehicle had recently been serviced and police do not suspect foul play.
