Moderates: No forced retirement

The Moderate Party believes older workers deserve protection from forced retirement.

The party is looking into changing the law in order to make it harder for employers to force those who wish to work past the age of 67 to quit their jobs.

“I think that the right to work ought to apply to everyone equally, even the elderly. It’s something we will look into. But if we have ambitions that people be allowed to continue working, we must also make sure we have regulations in place that embrace everyone,” said Moderate party secretary Per Schlingmann to newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

The party has now set up a working group to look into how regulations might be changed.
