Triple-record for 2007 Swedish labour market

More than 100,000 Swedes entered the labour force in 2007, allowing more Swedes to work more hours on average than almost ever before and bringing full-year unemployment down to 6.1 percent.
According to the latest Labour Force Survey from Statistics Sweden, 111,000 people between the ages of 15 and 74 entered the labour force during 2007.
The new jobs brought the total number of employed people in Sweden to 4,451,000.
In addition, the number of hours work increased by 3.1 percent to 138.6 million hours per week.
The figures represent near-record levels for each category.
The full year unemployment rate ended the year at 6.1 percent, down a full percentage point from 2006.
