7-year-old Brit on Arlanda Express joyride

A 7-year-old British boy has been found alive and well in central Stockholm after having run away from his mum at Arlanda Airport. The boy, who is autistic, rode the baggage carousel before taking a joyride on the Arlanda Express train into town.

The boy's mum went into a store in Arlanda Airport only to discover to her horror when she came out that her son had made a run for it.

The mum informed the Arlanda Airport police who were soon able to establish that the autistic boy had managed to glide through security controls, even stopping for a ride on the baggage carousel. The boy was removed from the carousel by airport staff but evaded capture and continued his adventure.

After having checked security cameras airport police tracked the boy down to the platform of the Arlanda Express. The boy managed to evade his pursuers however by jumping on the train; next stop Stockholm central station.

The boy's joyride eventually came to an end when he was apprehended on Fridhemsplan in the Kungsholmen area of the city, a good distance from the central station. How the boy had managed to find his way there will remain a mystery. For all but one.
