The trial of four people involved in operating The Pirate Bay will likely not take place before the summer.

Anita Thimberg from the Stockholm district court cited the complexity of the case involving the file sharing site as one of the main reasons for the delay.

“It can take weeks for the parties to simply go through all the documents included in the summons,” she told The Local.

Thimberg also pointed to the fact that many are party to the case, including record companies that may be seeking monetary damages.

“It’s a rather large and unusual case,” she said.

No specific date has yet been set for the trial, which is expected to last four to six days.

The four have been charged with being accessories to breaking copyright law through their role in the operation of The Pirate Bay.
