Winds approaching storm force are expected to draw in over Sweden as an intense low pressure belt hits the south and west of the country on Thursday, according to meteorological agency SMHI.
On Friday the winds are predicted to pass over southern Sweden, bringing stormy conditions to parts of western Götaland.
Snow is forecast for inland areas on Friday, while the south can expect more rain. Northern areas will be cloudy, with localized snowfalls.
Temperatures are set to range from plus 5 degrees Celsius in the south to minus 5-10 in the most northerly parts of the country.
SMHI forecasts that the rain and snow will cease at the weekend, with calmer conditions returning on Saturday.
