Christmas Eve stabbings in Stockholm
Three men in their late teens were stabbed late on Christmas Eve during a brawl in the southern Stockholm suburb of Högdalen. Two men, aged 18 and 26, have been taken into custody for attempted murder.
Police suspect the fight began when a group of 18- to 20-year olds attempted to force their way into a Högdalen apartment.
From there, the scuffle spread out through central Högdalen. One victim was stabbed in the subway station, another in a parking lot near Högdalen’s public bath. The third victim was attacked in a nearby residential area.
Police are having difficulty gathering details clarifying the exact course of events because none of those involved wishes to discuss what happened.
“The victims are able to speak,” said Gunnar Samuelsson, commander for the south Stockholm’s police station. “But they aren’t saying much.”
Two of the wounded men are receiving care at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna; the third is at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge.
