Vattenfall removes new chief
The head of Vattenfall Europe, an arm of Swedish energy giant Vattenfall, will be replaced after just four months in the post, the company said on Friday.
Along with Hans-Jürgen Cramer's departure, the company also announced a set of restructuring measures.
Vattenfall said these will include merging its German and Polish operations into a new company.
The former Finnish boss of the Polish branch, Tuomo Hatakka, will then replace Cramer on January 1st.
"Vattenfall must face up to the challenges of the moment and transform its structures accordingly," the head of the parent company, Lars Göran Josefsson, said in a statement.
Cramer's departure does not come as a surprise.
Press reports in recent weeks have said that the company believed the 57-year-old German had failed to show strong leadership and had failed to forge solid ties with Germany's political leaders.
He was hastily appointed to replace Klaus Rauscher, who made a forced exit earlier this year following controversial incidents at two of the group's nuclear power plants in Germany.
