Sweden vulnerable to online attacks

The Swedish Emergency Management Agency (Krisberedskapsmyndigheten - KBM) has warned that Sweden is "worryingly" vulnerable to internet attacks.
The fact that home broadband services have improved increases the risk of a coordinated attack, according to a new report from the agency.
A network of home computer infected with spyware could prove a powerful weapon if directed at the country's information systems.
"We lack procedures to quickly detect the nature and strength of targeted attacks aimed simultaneously at large numbers of agencies or other important societal organs," said KBM in a statement.
KBM first began looking into Sweden's online defences after Estonian authorities fell victim to a coordinated cyber attack after the country had become embroiled in a dispute with neighbouring Russia earlier this year.
